About the Recipe

Who says you can't have your ice cream and eat it too? This dreamy, creamy nutty banana ice cream is about to become your new go-to when the kids are asking for something sweet – and the best bit? You can feel absolutely brilliant about saying yes!

Made with just four simple ingredients, this gorgeous treat is naturally sweetened by ripe bananas, which means zero refined sugar but all the deliciousness. Bananas are little powerhouses of goodness, packed with potassium to support healthy muscles and hearts, plus they give you that natural energy boost without the sugar crash that comes with traditional ice cream.

The nut butter adds a lovely richness and those all-important healthy fats that help keep everyone satisfied and their brains happy. It's the kind of sweet treat that actually nourishes your body while feeling like a total indulgence – and honestly, that's the sweet spot we're always aiming for at Habits For Health!

Perfect for hot summer days, after-school snacks, or those moments when you just fancy something cold and creamy, this banana ice cream comes together in minutes and tastes like you've been to a fancy gelato shop. The kids will absolutely love it, and you'll love knowing they're getting real food goodness in every spoonful.

Ready to whip up this guilt-free goodness? Let's go!

Ingredients

4 ripe banana, peeled, chopped, and frozen for at least 2 hours

2 tbsp milk of your choice (try almond or coconut milk)

1 tbsp nut butter of your choice (try almond or an LSA mix)

1 pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a high powered blender.

  2. Blend, intermittently scraping down the sides of the bowl every now and then, until nice and smooth.

  3. Serve immediately as a soft-serve ice cream, or place in the freezer, but not for too long!

Serve drizzled with our Date Caramel Sauce.

If storing in the freezer, leave it out on the bench for about 30 minutes to soften slightly before serving.
